About Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme – Tamil Nadu
Launched as a state scheme by Tamil Nadu’s Social Welfare and Women Empowerment Department, the ‘Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme’ pays ₹1,000/- as pension to destitute widows who are 40 years or older and live in below-poverty-line households. Widows also get a free saree at Pongal and Deepavali and free rice through Anganwadi Centres.
