Hostel Scheme for Disabled Students
About Hostel Scheme for Disabled Students
On 08.09.2008, the Social Justice and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh began the “Hostel Scheme for Disabled Students”. It arranges hostel accommodation, by renting private buildings, for disabled students taking regular admission in class 11th and above whose schools/colleges have no hostel facility. The government pays ₹1,000/- per month towards electricity and water in every hostel. Any expense above this is split equally among the students. The Social Justice Department covers only house rent, electricity and water tax. Everything else, such as utensils, equipment, furniture, ration, water, cleaning, newspaper and sweeper, must be arranged by the students on their own, and the Department carries no liability for it.
