Handicraft Rebate Scheme
About Handicraft Rebate Scheme
The Commissioner of Cottage and Rural Industries, Government of Gujarat, runs the “Handicraft Rebate Scheme” to back artisans and cooperatives with rebates on handicraft sales. A permanent rebate of 5% applies to retail sales, and an extra special rebate of 10% is offered at festival time, bringing the total to 15–20% for women-led cooperatives. The scheme operates through the e-Kutir portal, where an e-voucher system keeps toolkit distribution and rebate payments transparent. Industrial cooperatives, apex societies and women-led groups are its main beneficiaries, and it aims to make them more competitive while improving artisan welfare.
