About Haj Pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia
Introduced by the Department of Hindu Religious Institutions & Wakf, Puducherry, the “Haj Pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia” scheme helps pilgrims undertake Haj at Holy Mecca. Each pilgrim receives an air fare subsidy of ₹24,000/- along with free medical facility during the stay in Mecca. Applicants must be Indian citizens in sound health who have not performed Haj in the preceding five years. Applications are taken offline through the State Haj Committee.

A demand draft of ₹10,700/- in favour of the State Haj Committee must be enclosed with the application.
Payment is made by the pilgrim through demand drafts in three spells:
₹10,700/- towards advance foreign exchange, drawn in favour of the State Haj Committee.
₹61,000/- towards exchange, i.e. food and accommodation at Mecca, Saudi Arabia, sent to the Haj Committee of India, Mumbai.
₹12,000/- towards air fare, sent to the Haj Committee of India, Mumbai.
