Free Passport Scheme

Haryana
Quick Summary: Haryana's Free Passport Scheme refunds the ₹1,500 passport application fee to final-year UG and PG students of government colleges who do not yet hold a passport.

About Free Passport Scheme

Haryana’s Department of Higher Education introduced the “Free Passport Scheme” to motivate students to go on to higher studies. Final-year students of undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses at government colleges get back the fee they pay to apply for a passport. Students who apply in line with the scheme guidelines are reimbursed by their college, effectively making the passport free. Applying for and receiving the passport follows the same procedure and timeline as any regular passport.
