Financial Assistance under Odisha Working Journalist Welfare Scheme
About Financial Assistance under Odisha Working Journalist Welfare Scheme
The Information & Public Relations Department, Government of Odisha, launched the “Odisha Working Journalist Welfare Scheme” to support the legal heir of a working journalist who dies or becomes permanently incapacitated. On the death of a working journalist, a fixed sum may be paid to the widow; if no widow survives, it is shared equally among the minor children. Where the deceased was unmarried, or left no widow or children, the ex-gratia may be sanctioned to his father or mother. In such cases, the eligible person can apply online to the Information & Public Relations Department for the assistance.
