About Educational Assistance For Children Of Victims Of Crime

The Department of Social Justice, Government of Kerala, launched “Educational Assistance for Children of Victims of Crime” as part of efforts to strengthen victim support services in the State. It funds the education of children of survivors (victims) of crime, since dependents, children included, often struggle to keep studying when the family’s money goes on medical treatment. Survivors (Victims) of crime are people who suffer because of a crime through no fault of their own. Going through a crime can be deeply shocking and distressing, and the trauma can badly affect survivors (victims) and those close to them, particularly children. Survivors (victims) and their families face severe stress and endure financial, social and psychological hardship.
