About Balri Birth Gift Scheme (P.B.O.C.W.W.B)
The BOCW Welfare Board, Department of Labour, Punjab, runs the “Balri Birth Gift Scheme” for workers registered with the board. When a daughter is born, the Board gives financial help as a Fixed Deposit Receipt (FDR), for no more than two girls per family. The FDR may be cashed only when the daughter gets married.

Balri Birth Gift Scheme (P.B.O.C.W.W.B) provides the following benefits to eligible applicants:

For each daughter (up to two girls), ₹51,000/- is given as a Fixed Deposit Receipt (FDR). Note: Encashment of the FDR is allowed only at the time of the daughter's marriage.

Note:
Registration with the Board:
A construction worker joins the board by completing Application Form No 28 and paying a one-time registration fee of ₹ 25/- only (once in life) plus a contribution of ₹ 10/- per month. Registration can be taken for at least 1 year & at most 5 years at a time. A registered worker is known as a 'Beneficiary' of the Board.

By filling in Application Form No 28 and depositing a registration fee of ₹ 25/- only (once in life) and a monthly contribution of ₹ 10/-, a construction worker becomes a board member. Each registration lasts a minimum of 1 year & a maximum of 5 years. Registered workers are termed the Board's 'Beneficiary'.
