About Award of Pre-Matric Scholarship to Other Economically Backward Class (OEBC) Students
Launched by the Directorate of School Education, Union Territory of Puducherry, the “Award of Pre-Matric Scholarship to Other Economically Backward Class (OEBC) Students” offers monetary help to OEBC learners so that lack of money does not force them to leave school. Scholarships go to pupils of standards 6 to 10 who satisfy the prescribed eligibility conditions.

Benefits Provided
Award of Pre-Matric Scholarship to Other Economically Backward Class (OEBC) Students provides the following benefits to eligible applicants:
Rate of Scholarship
Standards 6 to 8
Standards 6 to 8: every student gets ₹50 per month (₹500 per year per student).
Standards 9 & 10
Standards 9 & 10: every student gets ₹75 per month (₹750 per year per student). * Paid for ten months in an academic year. Mode of Disbursement Payment is credited straight to the applicant's Aadhaar-seeded bank account using Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) via the Public Financial Management System (PFMS).
