About All Goa One-Act Play Competition in Konkani
Introduced by the Tiatr Academy under the Art, Culture and Museums Department, Government of Goa, the scheme “All Goa One-Act Play Competition in Konkani” seeks to draw young people towards drama, give them plenty of chances to display their dramatic talent, and promote Goan culture through Konkani theatre. The top 3 performances win cash awards with mementos and certificates; individual awards are given in categories such as direction, acting, music and stage setting; and transport costs are reimbursed according to Regional Transport Office norms. Individuals, clubs or associations able to stage a Konkani One-Act Play lasting between 35 to 45 minutes may enter, and they must hand in a typed copy of the play in Roman script together with the playwright’s written permission. Tiatr Academy of Goa implements the scheme, and applications are taken offline.

Every play is video recorded and preserved in the Tiatr Academy of Goa Library. Performances must not include derogatory remarks about any governments, individuals or institutions, or anything targeting caste, creed or religion. All rules and regulations of the competition must be followed by participants. Breaking any rule can lead to disqualification and loss of benefits.
