Run by Madhya Pradesh’s Department of Social Justice and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, this scheme supports individuals above six years of age who live with multiple disabilities and mental underdevelopment and cannot earn their own living. Since no such support existed earlier, their parents and families bore the entire burden of care; a monthly grant-in-aid of ₹600 now helps meet these beneficiaries’ special needs and eases the financial strain on their households.
