Under Puducherry’s “Motivation of Entrepreneurs to Start Industries and Fiscal Assistance to Industries – State Awards to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises” framework, the Industries and Commerce Department confers the “Outstanding Exporter” award on direct-manufacturer exporters who have sustained exports for three years, presenting them with a ₹2,00,000 cash prize and a citation. This ‘State Award’ traces its origin to the New Industrial Policy 2016, notified on 4th October 2016, and is designed to felicitate the best entrepreneurs/enterprises operating in line with that policy.
