About Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries

Launched in 2005 by the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, Government of India, the Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI) works to make India’s traditional industries more competitive, market-oriented, and sustainable. It does this by clustering artisans and rural entrepreneurs together so that productivity, incomes, and employment can grow. Support extends across infrastructure creation, technology upgradation, skill training, product design, and market linkages. The Coir Board serves as the nodal agency, rolling out the scheme through agencies designated for each cluster, while also pushing innovation, branding, e-commerce adoption, and sustainable practices to strengthen the entire value chain of these traditional industries.
