About PRISM (Promoting Innovations in Individuals, Start-ups and MSMEs): Category-2: Fabrication of Working Model/Process Know-how/Testing & Trial/Patenting/Technology Transfer
Promoting Innovations in Individuals, Start-ups and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (PRISM) is an initiative of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, created to foster innovation among individuals, start-ups, and MSMEs. Within Phase-I, this Category II track backs Individual Innovator Proposals centred on fabricating a working model, developing process know-how, testing and trial work, patenting, or technology transfer. Compared with other categories, it calls for a more rigorous demonstration that the original idea, invention, or know-how actually works — through a functioning prototype or process along with its testing, trials, patenting, or transfer of technology. DSIR runs the scheme, and applications reach it either through the nearest TePP Outreach cum Cluster Innovation Centre (TOCIC) or by direct submission to the Department.
