Modernisation And Removal Of Obsolescence
About Modernisation And Removal Of Obsolescence
Introduction (a) MODROB, one of AICTE’s Quality Improvement Schemes (AQIS), supports developing laboratories with suitable equipment/technology/tools/software while encouraging financial contributions from industry, so that students’ practical and project work stays current and industry-relevant.
(b) To build a problem-solving approach among students and staff, institutes are encouraged to procure equipment in line with revisions/modifications to the AICTE Model Curriculum
(c) Funds under this Scheme can ideally build technical infrastructure for a revised curriculum, upgrade equipment in existing laboratories, enhance the performance of existing equipment, or replace depreciated equipment with modern alternatives.
(d)The equipment installed can also benefit faculty/students through Continuing Education programmes, and local industry through consultancy work and worker training.
(e) This scheme has three variants, addressing the needs of: (i) MODROB- Aspiring Institutes (ii) MODROB- Polytechnic (iii) MODROB- Regular
Objective MODROB aims to modernise laboratories/workshops/computing facilities and remove obsolescence, so as to maintain the quality of technical education’s practical components and promote experimental research and hands-on training.
