Logistics Excellence, Advancement, and Performance Shield
About Logistics Excellence, Advancement, and Performance Shield
The Logistics Excellence, Advancement, and Performance Shield (LEAPS) scheme, run by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, is a flagship award that recognises best practices and innovation across the logistics sector. Aligned with the National Logistics Policy 2022, it sets a new benchmark, in India and globally, by honouring outstanding leadership and innovation across air, road, sea, and rail freight, warehousing, and multimodal transportation, and also recognises MSMEs, startups, and academic institutions offering innovative solutions across the logistics ecosystem. LEAPS also builds awareness of sustainability, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) practices, and green logistics, and fosters collaboration between government, industry, and academia to drive efficiency and progress. Building on the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan and the National Logistics Policy, it seeks to further strengthen India’s logistics infrastructure and efficiency, working toward a technologically enabled, integrated, and sustainable logistics ecosystem. This marks LEAPS’s 4th edition. > The key guiding principles for “LEAPS” are:
1. Covering all logistics sectors and ecosystem enablers comprehensively 1. Giving special focus to MSMEs and Startups 1. Showcasing diversity, inclusion, and ESG best practices in the logistics industry 1. Aligning with the objectives of PM Gati Shakti 1. Aligning with the mission of Aatmanirbhar Bharat 1.
