Implemented by the Spices Board of India under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the “Large Cardamom Irrigation Land Development: Rainwater Harvesting Structures (Nos)” scheme is a component of the Integrated Scheme for Export Promotion and Quality Improvement in Spices and Research and Development of Cardamom, running through the 15th Finance Commission period (2021–22 to 2025–26) under its Export-Oriented Production component. It motivates growers to expand irrigated area by supporting water storage structures, rainwater harvesting systems, and irrigation equipment installation, boosting both productivity and quality in large cardamom.
