ICSSR Post-Doctoral Fellowship
About ICSSR Post-Doctoral Fellowship
This fellowship is open to Indian citizens under 45 who hold a Ph.D. and have shown research ability through earlier publications. Candidates must be affiliated with a Ministry of Education or UGC-recognized public-funded Indian university, supervised there by a senior faculty member of at least Associate Professor rank. It offers a ₹31,000 monthly grant and a ₹20,000 annual contingency grant over two years, with applications invited via ICSSR’s website and social media. The scheme spans 26 major social-science areas, including priority research topics. Beyond full-time research, fellows must give regular progress updates and publish at least two papers in reputable journals, with a final submission covering published articles, audited financial data, summaries, and a book-length report — all geared toward promoting research excellence, evidence-based work, and policy-relevant scholarship within India’s social science ecosystem.
