Financial Assistance For Procuring Mobility Equipment To Disabled Ex-Servicemen (All Ranks)
About Financial Assistance For Procuring Mobility Equipment To Disabled Ex-Servicemen (All Ranks)
Run by the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare under the Ministry of Defence, the “Financial Assistance For Procuring Mobility Equipment To Disabled Ex-Servicemen (All Ranks)” scheme funds the purchase of a modified scooter for Ex-Servicemen (ESM) who become disabled — with 50% or more disability — after leaving service. Many ESMs continue physically demanding work after retirement, and some are unfortunately left handicapped by post-retirement accidents or similar events, needing mobility aids such as modified scooters, crutches, and wheelchairs to manage daily life. To help them acquire such equipment, the Kendriya Sainik Board (KSB) offers financial assistance to disabled ESMs, drawing on the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund (AFFDF).
