About Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Upgradation of Merit of Scheduled Caste Students
Introduced by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, this scheme lifts the academic merit of Scheduled Caste students by giving them all-round developmental support through residential or non-residential schooling. Its purpose is to close the educational gaps that keep such students from making use of reservation quotas in technical and professional courses, offering remedial coaching for weak school subjects alongside special coaching to prepare them for competitive entrance exams into fields like Engineering and Medicine.
