About AICTE SHORT TERM TRAINING PROGRAMME-SFURTI SCHEME
The Short Term Training Programme under SFURTI, run by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), gives institutions funding to organise training sessions for their faculty and students. The goal is to help participants explore approaches that let them channel their research work toward building small-scale enterprises across the country.
AICTE partners with the Indian Micro Enterprises Development Foundation (IMEDF) to run the STTP-SFURTI programme. IMEDF functions as a special-purpose vehicle that drives the growth of alternative groups supporting micro-enterprise development, and it also serves as the nodal agency for the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India, in developing clusters under the Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI).
Objectives:
- To familiarise participants with the Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI).
- To coach students and faculty in identifying and pitching project proposals.
- To sharpen their ability to put together a workable, detailed project report.
- To build an understanding of resource management for projects that combine technological and social innovation.
- To deepen participants’ grasp of project management, help them work through the challenges of sustainable rural economic development, and draw lessons on the resulting social, economic, and environmental impact.
