About Visitor’s Award
The Visitor’s Award, given under the Department of Higher Education, encourages excellence through competition, fostering healthy rivalry among faculty and students of Central Universities and motivating them to adopt global best practices in pursuing excellence.
Under the Visitor’s Award, there are three categories:
1. For Innovation. 1. For Research. 2.1. Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences. 2.2. Physical Sciences. 2.3. Biological Sciences. 1. For Technology Development.
Who can nominate?
- The Vice Chancellor/Dean/Director/Professor of the nominee’s University.
Selection Process
- The selection committee invites online nominations in the prescribed format via the web portal, following a procedure it devises and posts on the relevant portal. It then prepares a panel of awardees, from which the President, as Visitor of the Central University, makes the final selection.
Ceremony Details
- The President of India presents the awards at the Annual Conference of Vice Chancellors of Central Universities, or at the annual Visitor’s Conference.

Step-3: Indicate whether you are registering as an Individual or an Organization.
Step-4.1: For the Individual category, provide the following details.
Name, exactly as per Aadhaar/Valid Identity Proof.
Date of Birth.
Nominator/Applicant Type.
Mobile No.
Email ID.
Aadhaar Number.
Step-4.2: For the Organization category, provide the following details.
Type of Organization.
Name of the Authorized Person, exactly as per Aadhaar/Valid Identity Proof
