Scheme for Supportive Money to the Parents of Transgender Children
About Scheme for Supportive Money to the Parents of Transgender Children
The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment’s “Scheme for Supportive Money to the Parents of Transgender Children” aims to support 5,000 beneficiaries a year, with room for more depending on State/UT identification. Since Transgender persons face stigma and discrimination in nearly every part of life — within their own families, in health facilities, education, and employment — parents need awareness and information to support their gender-nonconforming or transgender children, moving past their discomfort and deeply held normative attitudes.
