About Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive (PRASHAD)
The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India rolled out the Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive (PRASAD) as a Central Sector Scheme in 2014-2015, aimed at developing and identifying pilgrimage destinations across the country to enhance the religious tourism experience. It seeks to integrate these destinations in a prioritized, planned, and sustainable way, offering visitors a complete religious tourism experience, and generally works to advance the development and promotion of religious tourism in India.
