The “Outstanding SC/ST Entrepreneur” award forms part of Puducherry’s “Motivation of Entrepreneurs to Start Industries and Fiscal Assistance to Industries – State Awards to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises” scheme, run by the Industries and Commerce Department. It stems from the New Industrial Policy 2016, notified on 4th October 2016, under which ‘State Award’ schemes felicitate the best entrepreneurs/enterprises complying with that policy. Applicable across the entire Union Territory, the award requires entrepreneurs to submit an offline application using the form on the Department’s official website.
