About Motivation Of Unemployed Persons To Start Self-Employed Enterprises Scheme
In 2006, the Union Territory of Puducherry launched the “Motivation of Unemployed Persons To Start Self-Employed Enterprises Scheme (MUPSES)” to promote self-employment among young people in manufacturing and service activities, largely to support the Union Territory’s growing economy. – Objective: unemployed people in the U.T. of Puducherry are encouraged to set up their own manufacturing or service sector enterprises. – Activities Covered: any service or industrial activity that is economically viable qualifies; at present the scheme especially encourages Mechanized laundry, Beauty Parlour (Saloon), Tailoring units, and Setting up of Hygienic Tea / Coffee Stalls. – Project cost: projects can cost up to ₹2, 00,000/-. – Means of finance: funding comes from Banks / Financial Institutions. – Interest: the bank’s normal rate of interest as on the date is charged.
