Meghalaya Agriculture Warehouse Scheme
About Meghalaya Agriculture Warehouse Scheme
Run by the Planning, Investment Promotion & Sustainable Development Department, Government of Meghalaya, as part of the Chief Minister’s CM-ELEVATE Program, the Meghalaya Agriculture Warehouse Scheme, strengthens farm infrastructure by setting up warehouses around the state. Its goals are fewer post-harvest losses, steadier market prices and higher incomes for farmers. Credit is made easy through partner banks, and large government subsidies lighten the financial load on entrepreneurs. The Meghalaya Basin Management Agency (MBMA) implements the scheme, helping individuals and registered entities build weatherproof storage for farm produce so that the farming community gains value addition, market linkages, and long-term storage.
