About Lifetime Contribution to Konkani Cinema Award
Instituted by the Tiatr Academy under the Art, Culture and Museums Department, Government of Goa, the “Lifetime Contribution to Konkani Cinema Award” salutes artistes, tiatr artistes among them, whose past work greatly advanced Konkani Cinema, giving due credit for their role in this cultural art form. The yearly award comprises a shawl, memento, citation, and a cash purse of ₹50,000/-. It is presented at a special function on 24th April each year, marking the anniversary of the release of ‘Mogacho Anvddo’, the first Konkani film, by late Al-Jerry Braganza, ‘The Father of Konkani Cinema’.

Lifetime Contribution to Konkani Cinema Award provides the following benefits to eligible applicants:
Cash Award:
The Tiatr Academy of Goa has fixed the prize money at ₹50,000/-. Honorary Items: The awardee receives a shawl, memento, and citation. Recognition Ceremony: The award is presented at a special function every 24th April, the anniversary of the first Konkani film. Awardees have to be present personally at the ceremony to accept the award. Attending the ceremony is compulsory; nobody can accept it by proxy or as a representative. No one can receive the award a second time in their lifetime, in any category.
