About Kharmore Sonchidia Award Scheme
Under the “Kharmore Sonchidia Award” of the Forest Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, a farmer on whose private land a Kharmor bird is spotted receives ₹5,000/-, and one on whose land a Golden bird is spotted receives ₹10,000/-. The reward is given on the condition that the farmer protects the birds, their eggs, and their habitat on that land.

Benefits Provided
Kharmore Sonchidia Award Scheme provides the following benefits to eligible applicants:
Reward of ₹5,000/- on Sighting of Kharmor Bird
Installment 1
Installment 1: a sighting during July-August earns ₹1,000/-
Installment 2
Installment 2: a further ₹4,000/- is paid when the bird is seen again in the same area in September-October Reward of ₹10,000/- on Sighting of Golden Bird
Installment 1
Installment 1: the first sighting brings ₹2,000/-
Installment 2
Installment 2: another sighting in the same area brings ₹8,000/-
