Inter-state Border Areas Development Programme
About Inter-state Border Areas Development Programme
The Inter-State Border Areas Development Programme ISBADP sets out to provide facilities that support the socioeconomic development of people living along the Inter-State boundary with Assam. Projects under it should be sustainable and add value to the products concerned, and a cluster approach is favoured wherever possible. Villages lying within 0-10 km crow fly distance of the Inter-State boundary with Assam are covered, with first priority going to those located 0-5 km from the boundary. Normally, ISBADP money is used to fill critical gaps and address the immediate needs of residents near the Inter-State boundary. Schemes are planned and carried out in a participatory, decentralised way through the Deputy Commissioners/ Line Departments/ Village Councils. Implementation rests with the concerned Deputy Commissioners, who meet regularly with district line departments such as Power, Rural Development, Roads & Buildings, Water Supply, Social Welfare, Public Distribution, Civil Supplies, etc. to make sure ISBADP schemes are delivered in the identified Inter-State border villages.
