Infrastructure and Technology Support
About Infrastructure and Technology Support
Operating as a sub-scheme of the “National Handicrafts Development Programme (NHDP)”, “Infrastructure and Technology Support” is aimed at building world-class infrastructure across the country to back handicraft production, lift product quality, and cut costs so the sector can hold its own globally. Several components serve the handicrafts sector and its artisans, including Urban Haat, Emporia, Marketing and Sourcing Hub, Handicraft Museum, Craft-Based Resource Centre, Common Facility Centre, Raw Material Depot, and Crafts Village. This particular component is meant to establish permanent marketing infrastructure in towns and metropolitan cities so that handicraft artisans and handloom weavers get direct access to markets.
