Funeral Assistance Scheme for Unorganized Workers (Except Construction Workers)
About Funeral Assistance Scheme for Unorganized Workers (Except Construction Workers)
Gujarat’s Rural Workers Welfare Board, under the Labour & Employment Department, Government of Gujarat, launched the “Funeral Assistance Scheme for Unorganized Workers (Except Construction Workers)” to help heirs of deceased unorganized-sector workers pay for the funeral and last rites, easing the money worries families face at such a painful time. It offers one heir of the deceased worker a one-time payment of ₹10,000/- and is meant specifically for e-Shram card holders in the unorganized sector. The applicant has to be the heir of an e-Shram card holder (e-Nirman card holders and Scheduled Caste individuals are excluded) and must have an annual income within ₹1,20,000/- in rural areas or ₹1,50,000/- in urban areas. The Labour & Employment Department Government of Gujarat implements the scheme, and applications are taken offline at designated government labour offices.
