Benefits

Benefits Provided

Flower Area Expansion provides the following benefits to eligible applicants:

To boost flower growing, cultivators receive flower planting material (bulbs, plants and seeds) at a 50% subsidy on the full cost, for an area of up to 4 hectares, as listed below:

💰

Open flowers

Open flowers: planting material valued at up to ₹20,000/- per hectare.

💰

Stalked flowers

Stalked flowers: planting material valued at up to ₹50,000/- per hectare.

💰

Bulbous flowers

Bulbous flowers: planting material valued at up to ₹75,000/- per hectare. (To illustrate, where 1 kg of marigold seed costs ₹200/-, the grower pays ₹100/- at the Horticulture Mobile team Center and the government bears the other ₹100/- as subsidy, so the seed costs the grower only ₹100/-.)

Benefit amounts and conditions may vary by category — refer to the official scheme guidelines for exact figures applicable to your case.

How to Apply

Offline Application

Applicants can apply for Flower Area Expansion through the offline application process outlined below.

📋

Application Process

Forms are available from officers or staff of the Horticulture Mobile team Centre, and can also be downloaded from the department's website: https://shm.uk.gov.in .
Applications for winter planting are accepted between September and October, and for rainy-season planting between April and June. Land records such as Khasra and Khatauni must accompany the form. Where the land is leased, the lease certificate, Aadhaar card, PAN card, Udhyan Card, bank account details and mobile number are also needed.
At present, applications are made offline only: farmers hand the completed form and documents to their Horticulture Mobile team Centre. The application format doubles as the proposal, and centre staff must help any farmer who finds the form difficult to fill.
Under centrally-sponsored schemes, the Horticulture Mobile team Centre sends each proposal to the district level, from where it moves to the state level and then to the Government of India. When the Government of India approves the action plan, targets are passed back to districts through the Directorate.
Under state-sponsored schemes, applications move from the Horticulture Mobile team Centre to the district level and on to the Directorate. After the Directorate approves the proposals, approval or work orders are sent to the districts in line with the Government Order.
When a proposal is approved, the district officer issues an acceptance letter and phones the farmer, who can then buy flower planting material (bulbs, plants or seeds) at a 50% subsidy from the relevant Horticulture Mobile team Centre. Selection is on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on the budget available.

Ensure all required documents are ready before starting the application process.
