About Financial Incentive to SC Meritorious Girls Students
Girls from Scheduled Castes (SC) who excel in their studies are rewarded through the ‘Financial Incentive to SC Meritorious Girls Students’ scheme of the Directorate of Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes, Government of Assam. It is open to girls who obtained 80% or above in the HSLC examination. By offering a worthwhile incentive, the scheme seeks to spur SC students towards higher education and narrow the academic gap with the rest of the population. Payment hinges on fulfilling the eligibility rules and submitting the necessary documents. The Selection Committee approves the beneficiaries, who each get ₹5,000/-.
