About Education Loan Scheme: Haryana Women Development Corporation
The Haryana Women Development Corporation, Government of Haryana, offers the “Education Loan Scheme” to motivate women and girls of Haryana to study at graduate, postgraduate, doctoral and post-doctoral levels in India and overseas, while easing the interest load on students and their guardians. Female students receive financial support along with an interest subsidy of 5% per annum. The Haryana Women Development Corporation is the implementing agency. > Objectives:
1. Motivating women/girls from Haryana State to take up higher education at Graduate/Post Graduate/Doctoral/Post Doctoral level in India and abroad. 1. Lightening the interest burden borne by the student / Guardian.

Benefits Provided
Education Loan Scheme: Haryana Women Development Corporation provides the following benefits to eligible applicants:
Financial Assistance:
Given to female students through a Bank tie-up Education Scheme.
Interest Subsidy:
The Corporation pays the banks an interest subsidy of 5% per annum.
Reduced Interest Burden:
The student/guardian ends up paying less interest.
Specific Interest Subsidy Condition:
For female students who took their Education Loan from the SBI Group and whose parents work for these banks, and who therefore already enjoy a lower rate than the general public, the Haryana Women Development Corporation (HWDC) pays the up to 5% subsidy only to the extent of the interest difference.
