About Destitute Widow Pension Scheme
The Social Welfare and Women Empowerment Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, operates the “Destitute Widow Pension Scheme” as a state scheme. Destitute widows aged 18 years and above get ₹1,000/- as a monthly pension, a free saree at Pongal and Deepavali, and free rice at Anganwadi Centres. Applications are to be made through a CSC.
