About Coffee Development Programme in North Eastern Region: Quality Upgradation / Certification: Support for Eco-Certification / Organic Certification
This Support for Eco-Certification/Organic Certification component belongs to the Coffee Board’s “Integrated Coffee Development Project During the Medium Term Framework (MTF) Period: Development Support to Stakeholders” (Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry). It pushes coffee growers to lift their quality for better prices and open doors into premium specialty markets by producing eco-certified coffee. A related aim is nudging small growers into forming groups or collectives to pursue eco-certification together, which should eventually help set up shared facilities.
