Chief Minister’s Agriculture Mechanisation Programme

Arunachal Pradesh
Quick Summary: The Chief Minister's Agriculture Mechanisation Programme raises the State's subsidy on farm machinery and Custom Hiring Centres so that farmers, SHGs, FPOs and cooperatives buying a tractor or machines for the first time can mechanise their farming.

About Chief Minister’s Agriculture Mechanisation Programme

With over 70% of the state’s people relying directly on farming, higher government help towards the steep cost of farm machinery will be a major boost to agricultural work across the state. For this reason, the existing Farm Mechanisation Programme, run jointly by the Govt. of India and the State Govt., has been renamed CM’s Agriculture Mechanisation Programme and approved with an increased State share of subsidy on the supply of Farm Machineries. Objective:

1. Encouraging mechanisation in keeping with the availability of farm land. 1. Offering hire services for different agricultural machines/implements and post-harvest technology (PHY) equipment used in various operations. 1. Widening mechanised operations over large areas during cropping seasons, particularly on small and marginal holdings. 1. Bringing improved and newly developed farm implements and machines into crop production. 1. Securing food and farm incomes by expanding the area under food and cash crops and moving from outdated practices to improved, technology-driven farming.

Important Features:

1. The District Agriculture Development Society (DADS) has the authority to choose beneficiaries in line with Chief Minister’s Sashakt Kisan Yojana-CM SKY. 1. Each CHC must keep records with details of hiring charges collected by the beneficiary, certified by the District Agriculture Officer. 1. Every Custom Hiring Center (CHC) must be Geo-tagged and registered on the portal of the Monitoring & Training division of the Government of India. 1. Each beneficiary must put in ₹6.00 lakh for every CHC. 1. The subsidy is paid only at source, to the company’s dealer.
