Chief Minister Rural Path Vendor Loan Scheme
About Chief Minister Rural Path Vendor Loan Scheme
Offered by the Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, the “Chief Minister Rural Path Vendor Loan Scheme” gives working capital support of up to ₹10,000, encourages timely loan repayment and trains budding entrepreneurs in business methods. Street vendors such as rehri wala, cycle wala and thela wala form a vital part of the informal rural economy, bringing a range of goods and services to village doorsteps at fair prices. Their wares include ice cream, fruits, samosa/kachori, bread-biscuits, chicken & eggs, clothes, small utensils, shoes & slippers and brooms, while others offer services like barbering and tool repair in rural areas.
Through banks, poor migrant workers and small traders in the state’s rural areas can obtain loans for inexpensive equipment or working capital. To help them start new ventures, rural migrant workers receive Entrepreneurship Development (EDP) training from the “Self Employment Training Institute (RSET)”, after which banks sanction loans for setting up the business.
