About Arka Vertical Garden
Offered by the State Horticulture Mission-Kerala under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY), the “Arka Vertical Garden” scheme promotes easy-to-use vertical garden structures designed and developed by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) – Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Bengalaru. It helps families grow enough safe vegetables for themselves, supporting food and nutrition security at home. Kerala residents can apply for one unit of the Arka Vertical Garden structure, and the State Horticulture Mission-Kerala implements the scheme.

The beneficiary has to be at the site when the Arka Vertical Garden structure is delivered, and must hand over the completed application form with the Aadhar Number at installation. The structure is then fitted and set up at the beneficiary's home Priority follows the order in which applications were submitted. Beneficiaries must cooperate with periodic inspections by the State Horticulture Mission. The structure may be used only for the purposes stated in the project guidelines. Misuse can lead to the beneficiary being asked to return the subsidy.
