AGR 2 (Farm Mechanization) Scheme Of Farmers Other Than SC/ST

Gujarat
Quick Summary: Gujarat's AGR 2 (Farm Mechanization) Scheme offers state-funded financial assistance to non-SC/ST farmers for buying farm machinery such as power tillers and rice transplanters. Small, marginal and women farmers receive a higher level of support.

About AGR 2 (Farm Mechanization) Scheme Of Farmers Other Than SC/ST

Launched by the Department of Agriculture, Farmers Welfare & Co-operation, Government of Gujarat, the “AGR 2 (Farm Mechanization) Scheme of Farmers Other Than SC/ST” helps cultivators buy farm machinery by offering them financial support, with the goal of lifting the output of agricultural crops. Gujarat introduced this initiative to strengthen farm-based enterprises through mechanization. Using machines allows a cultivator to make fuller use of untapped natural resources like land, water and climate, producing larger and better-quality harvests at a lower cost. To push mechanization further, the scheme operates across the state, leaving out only the 208 talukas already covered by the Centrally Sponsored “Submissions on Agricultural Mechanization” scheme. The entire cost, 100%, is funded by the state government.
