About Mukhya Mantri Kanyadaan Yojana
In Himachal Pradesh, the Mukhya Mantri Kanyadan Yojana is a welfare scheme that helps economically weaker families pay for their daughters’ marriages. Government help for the marriage is available to daughters of families below the poverty line, widows, destitute women, and families earning less than Rs. 35,000 a year. Its purpose is to lighten the financial load on families at the time of a daughter’s marriage and to advance gender equality. Many families, especially from underprivileged backgrounds, have received financial support through it, allowing them to celebrate their daughters’ marriages with dignity and joy.

Benefits Provided
Mukhya Mantri Kanyadaan Yojana provides the following benefits to eligible applicants:

1. Parents/guardians of the destitute girl/women can receive a marriage grant of ₹40,000/- in each case for her marriage.

2. For inmates of Nari Sewa Sadan/ Nari Niketan, the girl/women herself receives a marriage grant of ₹51,000/- for the marriage.
