About Maintenance Allowance for Persons Affected with Muscular Dystrophy
Set up by the Department for the Welfare of Differently Abled Persons, Government of Tamil Nadu, the “Maintenance Allowance Scheme for Persons Affected with Muscular Dystrophy” offers much-needed financial help to improve the well-being and quality of life of people living with this progressive neuromuscular disorder. A monthly allowance recognises the money pressures that muscular dystrophy can bring, such as higher medical bills and fewer job openings, and helps cover basic needs while protecting dignity and independence. The programme reflects the Department’s commitment to supporting people with muscular dystrophy and building a more inclusive society.
