Krushak Assistance For Livelihood And Income Augmentation
About Krushak Assistance For Livelihood And Income Augmentation
Wiping out poverty and spreading prosperity across the state depends on financing agriculture and insuring those who farm. With the Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation – KALIA Scheme , the State Government seeks to give farmers a comprehensive and flexible support system that speeds up agricultural prosperity. The core idea behind KALIA is to equip the state’s farmers with financial options that allow agriculture in Odisha to grow and develop. Better access to the right financial services will in turn raise farm productivity and boost farmers’ earnings, particularly those of small and marginal land holders.
Worth more than 10,000 crore, the scheme has been designed to free debt-burdened farmers from the debt trap, taking a practical approach to tackling poverty head-on through financial help for vulnerable farming households, landless labourers, and marginal cultivators in the state. Put forward by the Government of Odisha , KALIA covers 92% of the state’s cultivators and nearly every needy landless cultivator , all of whom receive benefits through Direct Benefit Transfer Mode.
