About Konkani Song & Music Awards (Tiatr Kantaram)
The Tiatr Academy, part of the Art, Culture and Museums Department, Government of Goa, introduced the “Konkani Song & Music Awards (Tiatr Kantaram)”. These awards recognise producers, lyricists, singers, and musicians who spend considerable money producing Konkani Audio Compact Disc/Video Compact Disc/Digital Versatile Disc/Digital Albums of Konkani Tiatr songs, and they aim to promote good-quality albums that enrich Konkani ‘kantar’. Cash awards between ₹5,000/- and ₹30,000/- are given in twelve categories, among them solo singers, group performances, lyricists, music composers, and best album, with interactive lyrics required in the group categories and a minimum number of compositions needed for an album to qualify.
