Green House
About Green House
Under the Green House Scheme of the Agriculture Department of Rajasthan, farmers get a subsidy on greenhouses so they can raise their income by growing horticultural crops such as vegetables, flowers and fruits while controlling agro-climatic factors like temperature, humidity and sunlight. A greenhouse is a hut-shaped structure of glass or polythene inside which plants grow in a controlled environment. Crops that cannot survive outdoors in severe cold can be grown easily in a greenhouse, and the same applies when excessive heat makes open-field production impossible. Greenhouses therefore let farmers grow crops in any season. They are used mainly for fruits, flowers and vegetables, and vegetable farming in particular gives good yields this way.
Other important points
1. Work on the greenhouse may begin only once the Horticulture Department issues the administrative approval/work order. 1. A committee set up for the purpose verifies the structure after it is built. 1. The grant is paid straight into the farmer’s bank account, or to the producer firm if the farmer gives written consent.
