About Grant of Subsidy for Procurement of Vehicle
The “Grant of Subsidy for Procurement of Vehicle”, started in 2010, is a Sub-Scheme of the Department of Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare, Government of Puducherry, under the Umbrella Scheme “Puducherry Development of Shore Based Facilities, Ice Plants, Service Unit, Infrastructural Facilities and Quick Transport Facilities”. By helping move fish catches quickly from landing centers to markets, it seeks to prevent or reduce spoilage. A 50% subsidy is given for buying specified vehicles.

Benefits Provided
Grant of Subsidy for Procurement of Vehicle provides the following benefits to eligible applicants:
Auto goods carrier up to 1-ton capacity
Auto goods carrier up to 1-ton capacity: 50% subsidy, at most ₹75,000.
Mini truck of 1-3 ton capacity
Mini truck of 1-3 ton capacity: 50% subsidy, at most ₹1,50,000.
Mini lorry of 3-5 ton capacity
Mini lorry of 3-5 ton capacity: 50% subsidy, at most ₹3,50,000.
Insulated fish van of 5-10 ton capacity
Insulated fish van of 5-10 ton capacity: 50% subsidy, at most ₹5,00,000.
Moped fitted with an insulated ice-box
Moped fitted with an insulated ice-box: 50% subsidy, at most ₹15,000.
Engine spares for boats
Engine spares for boats: 50% subsidy, at most ₹2,000 per boat per annum. Mode of Disbursement The subsidy is released to the bank and credited to the loan account of the beneficiary whose loan the bank has sanctioned.
