Note 1: The head of the organization must certify that the device sought will make the applicant more employable and that the organization does not itself supply the device. Note 2: In the case of self-employment, the authority examining the application (SCA/RRB, etc.) will judge whether an assistive device is needed and recommend accordingly.

1. The target group can borrow up to ₹5 lakhs to buy assistive devices such as screen readers, motorized tricycles, scooty and hearing aids, along with retrofitting costs, so as to boost their employability or self-employment prospects.
