About Financial Assistance to Troupes Going to Mumbai/Poona and Other Parts of the Country & Vice Versa
Run by the Tiatr Academy of Goa (TAG), Goa, the scheme “Financial Assistance to Troupes Going to Mumbai/Poona and Other Parts of the Country & Vice Versa” reimburses Goan drama troupes for what they spend on transport, since taking Tiatrs to Mumbai, Poona and other parts of the country does not always pay for itself. Transport costs are supported when a Goan troupe performs at least five shows of the same Tiatr in Mumbai/Poona, or when a Mumbai/Poona troupe performs five shows in Goa. For other destinations such as Kolkata, Delhi, Gujarat, Nagpur, Bangalore or Udaipur, a single show is enough to claim the benefit. Applications must reach the Academy one month ahead of the performance date and are handled on a ‘First Come First Serve’ basis, depending on the funds available.

The amount of support is decided by the Tiatr Academy of Goa. Conditions A representative may be appointed by the Tiatr Academy of Goa (TAG) to attend the show, and payment is released on the strength of that person's report. The announcement ‘This Tiatr is organized in collaboration with Tiatr Academy of Goa (TAG)’ is mandatory, both before the Tiatr begins and once more during the interval. Scripts, song lyrics, performances and speeches must contain no adverse remarks, written or spoken, against any Governments, Individuals or Institutions, or on grounds of caste, creed or religion. Where such remarks are established, the Tiatr Academy of Goa (TAG) may disqualify the show and either hold back payment or recover any sum already paid to the applicant. For shows at Mandd Sobhann, Mangalore, payment is made only once Mandd Sobhann issues a certificate of performance.
