Distribution Of Tractor Unit Under CMSGUY
About Distribution Of Tractor Unit Under CMSGUY
The “Distribution of Tractor Unit” Scheme is one component of the Govt. of Assam’s umbrella programme “Chief Minister Samagra Gramya Unnayan Yojna (CMSGUY)”. CMSGUY, a village development programme, was launched in Guwahati by Hon’ble Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on 5th February 2017 and is being rolled out across every village of Assam in mega mission mode. It follows a saturation model, reaching each revenue village with focused interventions in direct economic activity, logistical support such as market linkages, and community support.
The “Distribution of Tractor Unit” scheme chiefly seeks to revitalise agriculture and help double farmers’ income by 2022. Under the revised tractor scheme, each revenue village gets one tractor with certain essential accessories at a subsidised rate. Around 10,109 tractors are to be handed out by the state govt. in the first phase, and the scheme will reach all 26,000 villages of the state in phases. Groups of 8-10 genuine adult farmers may apply, and the state govt. has earmarked ₹ 1,000 Crore to carry out the scheme.
